Small Home – Big Yard

After biking the Colorado Trail from Kenosha Pass Campground, we took a drive over to Jefferson Lake to explore the 3 campgrounds there.  Lodgepole, Aspen and Jefferson Creek all offer reserveable campsites with  primitive facilities, vault toilets and hand-pump water faucets. Each campsite also has a picnic table and fire ring.  We’ve stayed in Lodgepole, back in June of 2010 when we left due to snow!

While Lodgepole has a few good sites we found that Jefferson Creek is a nicer campground.  Preferred sites at Jefferson Creek would include #5, #8 & #10 or #10 & #11.  Site #12 is a very nice pull-through that could be matched with #9.

This is the last campground on the road, and between 1 and 2 miles up to the lake.  However, the road continues with a very steep incline, not suitable for bike riding (at least not with our skill set)
